Ouka Leele – Tears
Tears was created as a part of the Fashion Art project by Spanish artist Ouka Leele, and fashion designer Manu Fernandez. Ouka Leele’s pursuits took her down paths less traveled. At the start of her career she drew series and comics that reproduced situations which were naive and domestic in appearance, but through which a fantastic inner world emerges where the feminine gaze and “domestic mystique” in which she sets her work are very present.
She became a star when, in 1979, she adopted Ouka Leele as a pseudonym, a constellation from the imaginary galaxy of Hortelano, for her emblematic comic Europa Requiem.
Fashion Art was created by Manuel Fernandez, it is a collaboration between visual artists and fashion designers in which their respective languages are combined to create a dress that is an authentic work of art. It is a project that is in constant evolution, where the fusion of Art and Fashion takes place in the eye of the spectator with the artists’ work taking center stage and the dress as the underlying canvas it is displayed on.
