This Komainu is located at the Yoshibaoka Fuji Asama Shrine in Tokyo, Japan. Komainu, often called lion-dogs in English, are statue pairs of lion-like creatures that guard the entrance or the honden, or inner shrine of many Japanese Shinto shrines.
