Creu de Picot
The Creu des Picot is a large stone cross that stands on the Puig des Milá, a mountain in the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca in Felanitx. From its location you have excellent views to the north, west and east, covering almost the entire island of Mallorca.
Located 477 meters from sea level, the cross can be seen from kilometers away. It is 14 meters high, and the current incarnation was erected in 1957. It replaced two earlier ones that had been destroyed by weather and storms. The first wooden cross was erected towards the end of the 19th century. The second metal cross was 11 meters high and existed between 1927 and 1951.
A Spanish inscription reads: “cermans aouests bracós semper oberts per a tothom” which means “Always keep your arms open for the brothers.”
